New Wander Acrylic Yarn Review

I was intrigued as a new affiliate for Furls to begin receiving updates about their new products, special offers and more. This particular new yarn looked too good to wait for, Wander sounded intriguing, a luxury acrylic. I couldn't talk about it until the official launch date, but I have been waiting to do so.

This bright yarn arrived within a couple of days of placing the order. The whole ordering process was really smooth, with email updates or progress from picking at the warehouse to postal updates.

The purchase process was smooth leaving me looking forward to the parcel, hopefully the yarn would live upto the experience I'd already received.

The Wander yarn arrived boxed safely with a hook to match. Being worsted weight yarn the Streamline hook was a 5mm/H size, perfect for the yarn as it turns out. I'll discuss the beautiful hook in a seperate post, this one is focused on the new yarn.

This is an acrylic with a real luxury look and squish to it. As soon as I open the box there is a sheen to the yarn nestling inside. I have a set of 5 balls in Surf, Midnight, Cobblestone, Mist and Snow to play with.

Overall there are 14 colours to choose from, what would you pick?

I began with some sample swatches to see how the yarn performed with the new hook. I have to say it was a dream to work with. No splitting and I could frog back both knit and crochet work just as easily. You can see me using the Midnight colourway in the Waffle Stitch tutorial.

I was pleased to see that there was an easy centre pull for the balls. I can leave the labels on as I work, so no excuses to 'forget' which colourway I'm working with.

The waffle stitch worked up into a wonderfully warm and soft scarf, the free pattern is available here if you want to try for yourself.

I used the yarns in the ever popular waffle along with the stunning Feather stitch. Both showcase the stunning shine of the yarn which really brings your makes to life. There is a very light halo or fuzziness to the yarn, which may increase with wear.

Overall I'm really impressed with this new yarn. Its tactile, soft and warm, easy to work with and the big bonus it has a clean centre pull.

You can buy your own gorgeous Wander yarn here. Let me know what you think of it in the comments below.
