I’ve always believed that a good story is a lot like a handmade quilt: it requires patience, intricate detail, and a few hidden secrets tucked into the seams.

Welcome to Babs Gets Crafty, a space where I share my passion for the tactile and the told. From beginner tutorials to help you stretch your skills with sticks and string, to deep dives into the dark, atmospheric forests of my fiction, there is something here for every creative soul.

Why the pivot to pages? As much as I love the rhythm of a crochet hook, I found myself craving stories that felt like home but had a "wicked" edge. I wanted detailed worlds, morally grey characters, and gripping suspense—all with strictly zero spice. When I couldn't find exactly what I wanted to read, I decided to write it myself.

 

Whether you are here for a new sewing pattern or to solve a "fair-play" mystery involving a mythical creature, I’m so glad you’ve joined me. I’m the smart best friend who will help you fix a dropped stitch and then spend three hours deconstructing a plot twist over a cup of tea.
