Let's keep in mind the pattern is written in US terms.

Remember you should have double checked that the mitten body reaches to you thumb joint. If not then adjust it now, by adding in as many rounds as necessary. Not all hands are the same size or dimensions.

PATTERN DIRECTIONS

HAND

This is where you will be skipping the stitches used to create the thumb. We will come back to these soon enough.

Rnd 1: SC-BLO 16 (17, 18, 19), ch 1, sk 13 sts, SC-BLO 16 (17, 18, 19). – 32, (34, 36, 38) sts

Rnd 2: SC-BLO 16 (17, 18, 19), SC in ch sp, SC-BLO 16 (17, 18, 19). – 33 (35, 37, 39) sts

Rnd 3: SC-BLO in each st to end of rnd.

Work Rnd 3 another 3 times or until hand reaches the desired length, just above you knuckles or all the way to your first finger joins, make sure it fits as you want it to.

SL ST to next st, fasten off.

THUMB

With MC, insert hook in the last SC of the skipped thumb stitches, pull up a loop, insert hook into ch 1 of Rnd 1 of HAND, pull up a loop, insert hook into first SC of the thumb, pull up a loop. – 3 loops on hook.

Yo, pull through 3 loops.

Next, work 11 SC-BLO around the thumb, join with SL ST to complete rnd and fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave in all ends.

Repeat all for the second mitten.

Yup there's only one part left, sill you be making two mitts before the final part or fully completing your first mitten before beginning your second?

Don't forget to show off your hard work in the Yarn Jugglers facebook group, I love seeing how fold interpret designs, their colour choices and which cuffs and lengths they opted for.
