Free Crochet Pattern



This ia a truly enjoyable C2C make, which for some reason in this colourway has overtones of Wonder Woman. If you wanted a really impactful Wonder Woman version colours would be red gold blue and cream.


Instructions are given for both US terms and UK terms.




Yarn


King Cole Big Value yarn

100g balls


A 2 cream

B 1 rasberry

C 1 burgundy

D 1 purple

E 1 gold


What You Will Need

  • US Size I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook

  • yarn needle

  • scissors

71” wide, 35.5” at tallest point after blocking


Gauge

6 blocks and 6 rows = 4”


Pattern Notes

Change color as follows: work last dc until 2 loops remain on hook, cut old color, yo with new color to complete dc, continue with new color.


Pattern is worked in 2 “corner-to-corner” pieces, then seamed to form 1 large triangle.

Wing (make 2)

With B, ch 6.

Row 1 (RS): tr in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, turn—1 corner block made.


Row 2: Ch 6, tr in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch (beginning block made), (sl st, ch 3, 3 tr) in ch-3 space of previous row (block made), turn—2 blocks.


Row 3: Ch 6, tr in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(sl st, ch 3, 3 tr) in next ch-3 space of previous row] twice, turn—3 blocks.


Row 4: Ch 6, tr in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, *(sl st, ch 3, 3 tr) in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from * across, turn—4 blocks.


Repeat Row 4, increasing by 1 block at the beginning of each row.

Fasten off.




Finishing

Place Wings together aligning 90 degree angles. Ensure the blocks are opposites so color rows form a ‘V’.


UK Terms: Join C with a sl st to front wing, *dc in front panel, sl st in back panel; repeat from * across, until join is completed with a pretty rope top down effect.


US Terms: Join C with a sl st to front wing, *sc in front panel, sl st in back panel; repeat from * across, until join is completed with a pretty rope top down effect.


Work 1 sc/dc or 1 sl st in between each dc/tr and 2 sc/dc in each ch-space.


Fasten off and weave in ends.
