Do you have a soft spot for mythical creatures?

I’m looking for a select group of sharp-eyed, tea-fuelled readers to step into the world of Ascendia Chronicles: Book 1. This isn't just a "sneak peek"—it’s an invitation to help me polish the edges of a world where the stakes are high, the characters are morally grey, and the humor is just a little bit wicked.

The Ash-Bound Manor A moody, mixed-media background of ancient stone and creeping dark ivy

Welcome to the Inner Circle of Ascendia

Spots are highly limited and there are one of three roles I would love to fill within this group.

  1. Highlighting the positives - thats it.  This role is keepng things very simple just mention anything you like, that hits in a good way, or a memorable quote.

  2. Readers Feeling - This role is looking for any emotions the story raises in you.  Good or bad.  Which characters you love, which you hate.  Or is it only a bit meh?

  3. Writers Thoughts - are you a writer as well as a reader?  If so thoughts on pacing , character arc etc are to be considered for you.

Anyone accepted can complete all responses, a form will be provided to keep it easy for you to complete.  Should you only want to keep to the roles assigned that great too.  Any and all feedback will be received with an open mind.

The Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

As a beta reader, you aren't just reading for fun (though I hope you have plenty of that). You are my final line of defence. I need your honest, "best friend" level of candour on:

  • The World: Does the magic feel tangible, or are there holes in the tapestry?

  • The Pacing: Does the descriptive prose sweep you away, or does it leave you stuck in the mud?

  • The Characters: Are they brilliantly flawed or just plain annoying?

  • The Logic: Does the timeline hold water, or did you get lost along the way?

How the Process Works

  1. The Delivery: Once you’re onboarded, you’ll receive a digital copy of the manuscript (EPUB or PDF).

  2. The Timeline: You’ll have 4 weeks to make your way through the story.

  3. The Feedback: I’ll provide a simple questionnaire for each section. No need for a literary thesis—just your gut reactions and any "Wait, what?" moments.

  4. The Reward: Aside from my eternal gratitude (and a mention in the acknowledgements), you'll get a final digital copy of the book once it's published and early access to future sequels. This is not a paid role.

A Quick Note on Content: This story features complex emotional layers and a few dark turns, but it is strictly no-spice. If you want a gripping, fun read without the bedroom scenes, you've found your home.

Ready to cross the threshold?

Fill out the form below to apply. I'm looking for readers who aren't afraid of a bit of snark, and a lot of heart.
