Comfy Cable Blanket
With this pattern you can create your own luxurious Cable Knit Throw. The Comfy Cable Throw has a thick hand knitted touch of luxury with a Wooly feel fabric. With my Irish heritage the language of cables has been inspiring over the years. The symbology and meaning behind some of the cables I chose for this blanket give added meaning to your next make.
Rope Cable: This stitch represents the ropes the fishermen used, and symbolises the desire for luck and a wish for a fruitful fishing harvest. This pattern represents luck.
Ladder of Life: Purl or twist stitches worked to form the rungs of the ladder of life, against a plain background. It symbolises health and happiness.
Trellis: An intricate pattern of plain stitches worked to form a trellis effect over purl stitches. This stitch represents success.
Moss Stitch: This stitch represents the seaweed spread over barren fields to produce a good harvest.
Using an over large needle this gives a wonderful flow to the blanket, even without blocking.
There is a group at Yarn Jugglers, on Facebook, who are ready to help you out if you have any queries. You are sure to have great success with this pattern.
